Thoughts from Blue Chip Students and Alumni

Over and over again we get praise from our Blue Chip students and alumni on what the Blue Chip Program has provided them. Consistently the message we get is "you get out of Blue Chip what you put into it." If you complete the requirements and graduate from Blue Chip, you will have a good experience; if you go above and beyond what is required you will have a GREAT experience. We have many successful graduates from Blue Chip who encourage you to Trust the Process! Please know that the program is designed and sequenced in a very purposeful way - so hang on and enjoy the process!

Some current and past Blue Chip students reflect on their experiences:

Blue Chip was the most valuable experience I have had in my life so far! The program taught me a lot about myself and the world of leadership. Also because of this program I have so many amazing friends who helped to shape me in to the person I have become today.

Blue Chip was an amazing experience that gave me great tools for success in everything I have done since graduation. Being a Blue Chip graduate not only helped me get the job and get into graduate school, the fundamentals taught in the program helped me excel in each as well.

Blue Chip is a way of life... it is learning to lead and follow. Blue Chip gives back to you every inch of energy you put into it. Blue Chip is a place to make friendships that cross ethnic lines and develop your own personal leadership style.

When I look back on my college experience, Blue Chip stands out as my most significant experience. It was my home base on campus, and it was a great place to meet people who had similar interests and values as I did. Through Blue Chip I gained confidence, great abilities to work in a group and lead a team, direction in my life, and lifelong friendships. It's so neat to see all of the great innovations in the program, and if I could I would do it all over again!

The Blue Chip program is a leadership program that provides many opportunities for you to interact with and learn from other students of many diverse backgrounds, to get involved on campus and in the community, as well as the opportunity for self growth and leadership development. The program is what you make of it-pursue as many of the opportunities provided that you can.

Blue Chip will allow you to make lifelong friends, provide great opportunities to get involved in the community, develop yourself as a life-long leader, get involved in U of A, and get good leadership experience.

Blue Chip is a great opportunity to learn more about yourself. It provides you with opportunities to get involved in the campus and the community you are able to gain new leadership skills and enhance the ones that you already have.

Blue Chip cares about everyone's personal development and works to get members to build skills that will matter of the rest of their life: leadership, service, teambuilding, communication, social skills, etc.

Blue Chip is a leadership program where you start learning skills and techniques and apply them in the later years.

Blue Chip has given me the opportunity to make great friendships and help me grow as an individual. I loved getting to know my team members and volunteering with them as well. I think the Blue Chip program allows you to learn soooo much about yourself and others through team building, personality testing, community service, and more. Through my experience so far I have found what type of leader I am and how I can work on my leadership skills to develop into an even better leader. I think Blue Chip helps you step out of the box and really figure out who you are! I am more aware of how to be inclusive toward others, how to encourage others to get involved, how to manage my time, how to run group meetings, how to adapt to different personality types and so much more that I could go on for hours describing. I think what you put into Blue Chip is definitely what you get out of it, which is what is so unique about the program...because everyone can have their own experience. The program teaches you life long skills that one can continue to work on and maintain throughout their future no matter what their career goals entail.

Your Blue Chip experience will become what you make it become. If you sit back and let things happen, you will not learn and grow in the program. If you take the challenge to get more involved by being part of different groups, being a TA, Team Leader, or Facilitator you will learn valuable leadership skills that will help you after college.
