Who are Advisors?

The University of Arizona requires that all recognized student organizations have a faculty/staff advisor, referred to as their Faculty/Staff Advisor. These Advisors are full time members of the University of Arizona faculty or staff. Social Greek Letter Organizations also have Chapter Advisors. When the Chapter Advisor is also a full time employee of the University they individual may serve in both roles.

Advisors help guide the group in accordance with the purposes and ideals of the University of Arizona and the organization. They do not directly control the group’s programs and activities. The relationship of the advisor to the group will vary depending on each organization and its members. Therefore, the responsibilities and duties of the advisor will vary according to the group’s needs.
