Sammy’s Deli Opens at the Student Unions

A little taste of New York has arrived on campus. Sammy’s Deli is now open at the Student Unions, bringing classic New York-style deli favorites, fresh salads, hot sandwiches and made-to-order treats to the University of Arizona campus.

From the Sammy’s Signature Club and classic BLT to a Reuben piled with corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing, the menu puts a desert spin on some of the city’s most recognizable deli traditions. Hot options include the Manhattan, featuring meatballs, pesto and marinara, and the Park Avenue, with chicken, pesto, smoked mozzarella and roasted tomatoes.

For lighter fare, Sammy’s offers salads including the Sunset Park, made with Sonoran chicken, black beans, corn, pico de gallo, avocado and chipotle ranch, along with the Astoria Park and Riverside Park. There’s also a rotating Bread Bowl, serving soup in a freshly baked bread bowl.

And because no deli experience is complete without something sweet, Sammy’s features a Traditional Cinnamon Roll that guests can customize with toppings including chocolate chips, M&M candies, chocolate sauce, banana, berry compote, pecans, caramel and peanut butter.

Sammy’s Deli is now open at the Student Unions main level.
