Welcome to the campus destination for anyone who loves video games. Whether you are after casual gaming, hanging out with friends, or competitive esports, the Arizona Esports Arena has it all. Play where the Arizona Esports teams practice! We offer a pay-per-hour option for ANYONE to game on our state of the art PCs. Want to run an event? We do that too. The Arizona Esports Arena is your place to be for all things gaming!

Varsity Esports

The University of Arizona is proud to have launched the Arizona Esports program! This program includes academic courses that are available now! They also have varsity esports teams for a variety of different games. Interested in taking a class or trying out for a team? Find more information at esports.arizona.edu.

Rules

All customers at the Arizona Esports Arena will be required to read, understand, and sign our user agreement form the first time they create an account with us. A copy of that agreement can be found below. We will have copies available to sign in person but feel free to read and fill out the form ahead of time!

Event Reservations

The Arizona Esports Arena is the perfect place for gaming related events! It is also great for clubs to do meetings or gatherings! Please contact our Event Planning Office using the links below for pricing, availability, and reservations.






We ask for a minimum of 2 weeks' notice from the date of the event. Reservations are subject to availability. Please mention that you are requesting the Esports Arena in the comments of the form.

FAQ:

Is the Esports Arena only used for competitions?

  No. The Esports Arena is open to all students and the general public for all kinds of gaming, casual or competitive.


Do I have to own any of the games to play them at the Esports Arena?

  No, the Esports Arena has accounts for select game titles. A full list is available on this webpage. For most esports titles you can create and account and play for free! If you do own games we do not have installed, you are more than welcome to download and play them.


Do we have varsity teams for esports?

  Yes, we do. The University Arizona has 4 varsity teams. More information on this can be found at https://esports.arizona.edu


Can I play for free?

  Typically, no. This is a pay-per-hour service that provides a hassle-free gaming experience. Occasionally, we will host events that are free to sign up and participate in. Additionally, we have limited lounging space that you can relax in for free.


Do you offer military discount?

  Unfortunately, we do not offer military discount.


What happens with the hours I paid If I didn't use them? Can I get a refund?

  Hours that are not used are banked into your account. The next time you come in, let staff know that you still have time, you will be seated right away and can continue gaming. Monetary refunds are not provided, issues are resolved by fixing time.


Can I bring food to the Esports Arena?

  No, meals in the Esports Arena are prohibited. Snacks are okay in the lounging area, but food is never allowed at a gaming station. Drinks need to be in a sealed cup and will always be kept in the left side of the desks.


Can I bring my own console?

  The only console you are allowed to bring and dock into our gaming stations is the Nintendo Switch. However, you will still be charged the hourly rate for the station.


Can I bring my own equipment (peripherals)?

  Yes! Students who prefer to use their own peripherals are encouraged to bring their own.


Can I bring my own games?

  Yes! You can bring your own games for consoles and download games you already own into the computers. You will still be charged the hourly rate for the stations.


What kind of equipment (peripherals) do you have for people to use?

  Peripherals that students can check out include keyboards, mice, mousepads, PS5 and PS4 controllers, XBOX Controllers, and various Nintendo Switch peripherals. We currently do not have any headsets for customers to use.


What consoles do you have?

  We have 1 PlayStation 5, 1 XBOX Series X and 2 Nintendo Switches.


Can I bring my own laptop/console and play in the arena for free?

  No. Since we are a pay-per-hour service, students or general public are not allowed to bring their own consoles and laptops to play games in the space during normal operating hours. Exceptions may be made for events.


Do you have job openings?

  All job openings are posted via Handshake at https://arizona.joinhandshake.com/employers/154624


Do you host any tournaments or events?

  We do! To keep up with events in the arena feel free to look at our calendar or discord.


Can I rent the space? Can I host my own tournament? Do you have reservations?

  Yes, we have renting options for private events in which you can decide to use the space how you would like. Pricing will be decided based on the scope of the event, and the event reservation form is linked on our website.


Do you have a twitch channel?

  We do! Feel free to follow and subscribe to the University of Arizona's twitch to keep up with all the events we have in the space! https://www.twitch.tv/universityofarizona


Can I stream from the arena?

  Unfortunately, at this time we do not have a streaming booth or station setup for general use. This is something that is planned for the future.


Is there an age limit/restriction?

  No. People of all ages are welcome. If you are under 18, you will need a parent, guardian, or chaperone to sign our User Agreement Form.


What happens if I am disabled? Can I use the arena?

  Yes! Our Arena is ADA and DRC compliant! We also have specific accessibility controllers and joysticks available upon request.
